The BBP’s Building Innovation & Technology Working Group, chaired by Neil Pennell of Landsec, recently brought together industry experts to share their knowledge and facilitate discussions with BBP members on the opportunities presented by Smart technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). During the meeting we heard a range of perspectives and benefitted from a thought-provoking discussion on how technology might present opportunities for building owners and managers.

abrdn pioneers nature-based solutions in the UK

The abrdn Property Income Trust (aPIT), one of abrdn’s real assets investment strategies, has launched one of the largest native woodland and peatland restoration projects in the UK, at Far Ralia Estate in Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park. This pioneering project will maximise environmental and social co-benefits, alongside climate impact. The land extends across more than 1,400 hectares – the size of nearly 2,000 football pitches. Works will include planting at least 1.5 million trees, focusing on native species such as Scots Pine, Oak and Birch.

Lendlease Europe slashes emissions by half in one year

Lendlease Europe today announced it has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by more than half over the past year, and the business also unveiled its social value approach, focusing on creating thriving and economically prosperous communities, which support and enhance people’s physical and mental wellbeing.

Better Buildings Partnership members collaborate to develop market-first commercial real estate guidance for TNFD strategy and reporting

As the UN Conference on Biodiversity (COP 15) commences, real estate investors have come together with the Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) and sustainability consultancy Greengage to collaborate on the creation of a commercial real estate framework to implement the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).

Fiera Real Estate joins BBP and signs up to ground-breaking Climate Commitment

It has been announced today that Fiera Real Estate has joined the Better Buildings Partnership and signed up to the BBP’s Climate Commitment. In doing so, Fiera become the 37th Commitment signatory, and the eighth organisation to join the commitment this year.
