The BBP benchmark has been instrumental in helping Hammerson evaluate their performance. In 2013 WestQuay shopping centre in Southampton achieved best in class for their environmental performance in the Real Estate Environmental Benchmark which helped them lead the way for their other centres. Looking across their portfolio, their worst performing centre, still performs well according to the BBP benchmark for the sector.
