As the sector increasingly focuses on refurbishments to meet climate goals, The Bourn building in Coventry is a prime example of successful sustainability-driven refurbishment which reduced 14,000 tonnes CO2e compared to a new-build alternative. With a £9 million investment by IM Properties (IMP), the asset has been transformed into a modern workplace with a focus on occupier collaboration to deliver sustainability, wellbeing and community benefits.

Legal & General Outperforms Industry Targets on Lifecycle Carbon at North Quay House
16 February 2022
North Quay House in Bristol is the latest refurbishment by Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) Real Assets to undergo a detailed lifecycle carbon assessment. This revealed that the project is on track to achieve embodied emissions well below industry targets, evidencing the carbon benefit of retaining and renewing existing structures rather than building new. Planned upgrades to the building fabric and systems will also substantially reduce operational emissions, accelerating progress to net zero carbon.

New Landsec HQ Achieves Global First for Wellbeing and Sustainability

In January 2017, Landsec completed the move to its new headquarters at 100 Victoria Street, London. 470 employees are now accommodated on a single floor plate in a high-performance office designed to increase communication and collaboration.
