intu – LED Rollout Cuts Energy Costs and Carbon Emissions

Over the last three years, intu has installed more than 100,000 LED light bulbs across 12 shopping centres, through an £8 million capital investment project. BBP Members Use Big Data to Improve Comfort and Efficiency

Canary Wharf Group – Lighting Upgrade to Retail Areas

Canary Wharf Group has carried out a major lighting upgrade in retail areas at Cabot Place, Canada Place, Churchill Place and Jubilee Place, installing an energy efficient LED lighting system in the shopping malls and car parks. Hammerson and Costa Invest Collaboratively to Achieve Zero Carbon
16 September 2015
At Wrekin Retail Park in Telford, developer Hammerson and occupier Costa invested collaboratively to create a zero carbon Eco Pod, which opened in April 2015. The Eco Pod includes passive ventilation and high performance building materials that naturally manage temperatures, as well as photovoltaic panels that produce clean power for the building, offsetting a proportion of the energy used by the coffee making equipment.

Energy Centre at Spring Mews

Thanks to a highly efficient, low-carbon energy centre at Spring Mews in Vauxhall, CLS Holding’s new mixed-use development substantially exceeded its planning consent target of 25% better carbon efficiency than Part L 2010 Building Regulations as well as minimising environmental impacts and offering low energy costs to occupiers.
